Josh 7:1The Israelites committed a trespass in regard to the devoted things; for Achan, son of Carmi, son of Zabdi, son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took some of the devoted things. So the anger of the Lord burned against the Israelites.
Josh 7:18Then he brought near his household man by man, and Achan, son of Carmi, son of Zabdi, son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, was taken.
The expression in 1 Chronicles seems to record the descendants of Judah as sons of Judah. This was a common style in genealogical records at the time.
