This document is about Gihon (Area_Near_Jerusalem). For other homonyms, please refer to the Gihon document. It is an area in the Kidron Valley next to Jerusalem. A spring has flowed here for generations, becoming Jerusalem's main water supply. Solomon was anointed here and held his enthronement ceremony, taking over the kingship.
1 Kings 1:33Let Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet anoint him there king over Israel. Blow the trumpet, and say, ‘Long live king Solomon!’
