Place

Gilgal is a place name that appears in the Bible. A total of three places appear with the same name. ## A place name east of Jericho. It was the base of Joshua during the Conquest of Canaan. It was where the first Passover was observed after entering Canaan.

Joshua 4:19Joshua set up those twelve stones, which they took out of the Jordan, in Gilgal.
Joshua 5:10They ate unleavened cakes and parched grain of the produce of the land on the next day after the Passover, in the same day.

또한 사무엘이 자주 순행하던 곳이며, 사울 왕의 왕이 되는 과정 가운데서 몸을 정결하게 하고 기다리도록 했던 곳이기도 하다.

그리심산과 에발산의 위치에 대해 설명할 때 언급이 되는데, 갈릴리의 오기일 수 있다는 견해도 있다.

Deuteronomy 11:30For you are to pass over the Jordan to go in to possess the land which Yahweh your God gives you, and you shall possess it and dwell in it.
