Overview Tarshish was an ancient port city located in the region of Spain. Its exact location is currently unknown. 
There was a sea route from Joppa to Tarshish. With ancient navigation techniques, it was not possible to cross the Mediterranean directly. They would have traveled along the coast, stopping at various ports along the way.
