A silversmith residing in Ephesus who crafted silver shrines for the goddess Artemis. When their livelihood was threatened by Paul's preaching, he incited the people to persecute them.
Acts 19:24For a man named Demetrius, a silversmith, who made silver shrines of Artemis, brought no little business to the craftsmen.
Acts 19:38So if Demetrius and the craftsmen with him have a complaint against anyone, the courts are open, and there are proconsuls; let them bring charges against one another.
