He was a descendant of Cain. He can be considered the first tyrant to appear in the Bible.

He had two wives, who gave birth to sons named Jabal, Jubal, and Tubal-Cain, respectively. From their descendants, nomadic culture, music and instrument playing culture, and metal culture began, respectively.

He was a cruel person who proudly spoke of killing someone who had injured him.

Gen 4:18Enoch (son of Cain)) begot Irad; Irad begot Mehujael; Mehujael begot Methushael; and Methushael begot Lamech (son of Methushael)).Gen 4:19Lamech (son of Methushael)) took for himself two wives: the name of one was Adah (Lamech's wife)), and the name of the second was Zillah.Gen 4:20Adah (Lamech's wife)) bore Jabal. He was the father of those who dwell in tents and have livestock.Gen 4:21His brother’s name was Jubal.
