One of the areas allotted to the tribe of Reuben, east of the Jordan. It was distributed to the Levites within the tribe of Reuben and designated as a city of refuge.
Deuteronomy 4:43namely, Bezer in the wilderness on the plateau for the Reubenites, Ramoth in Gilead for the Gadites, and Golan in Bashan for the Manassites.
