At this the king became furious, and his anger burned within him.Esther 1:13Then the king consulted with the wise men who understood the times, for it was customary for the king to consult with those skilled in law and justice.Esther 1:14Those closest to him were Carshena, Sethar, Admatha, Tarshish, Meres, Marsena, and Memucan, the seven princes of Persia and Media who had access to the king and sat in the highest positions in the kingdom.
