This document is about Shemaiah (son of Obed-Edom). For other homonyms, please refer to the Shemaiah document. He was the eldest son of Obed-Edom. When David moved the Ark of the Covenant, which was in his father Obed-Edom's house, to Jerusalem, he followed along and became a doorkeeper.
