1 Samuel 27:4David said to Achish, “If now I have found favor in your eyes, let them give me a place in one of the cities in the country, that I may dwell there. For why should your servant dwell in the royal city with you?”1 Samuel 27:5Then Achish gave him Ziklag) that day: therefore Ziklag belongs to the kings of Judah to this day.1 Samuel 27:6The number of the days that David lived in the country of the Philistines was a full year and four months.

Then he returned, and came to Achish.1 Samuel 27:9Achish said, “Against whom have you made a raid today?” David said, “Against the South of Judah, against the South of the Jerahmeelites, and against the South of the Kenites.”

2 Samuel 1:1on the third day, behold, a man came out of the camp from Saul, with his clothes torn, and earth on his head. When he came to David, he fell to the earth, and showed respect.2 Samuel 1:2David said to him, “Where do you come from?” He said to him, “I have escaped out of the camp of Israel.”2 Samuel 1:3David said to him, “How did it go? Please tell me.” He answered, “The people have fled from the battle, and many of the people also have fallen and are dead. Saul and Jonathan his son are dead also.”2 Samuel 1:4David said to the young man who told him, “How do you know that Saul and Jonathan his son are dead?”

이후 바벨론 포로 귀환기에 유다 지파의 자손들이 거한 곳 중 하나이기도 하였다.
