King of the Amalekites. During the reign of King Saul, he was defeated in battle and taken captive, but King Saul spared his life, incurring God's wrath.
1 Sam 15:8He captured Agag the king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all his people with the edge of the sword.1 Sam 15:9But Saul and the people spared Agag and the best of the sheep and of the oxen and of the fatlings and the lambs, and all that was good, and were not willing to utterly destroy them; but everything that was vile and worthless, that they utterly destroyed.
Later, during the time of Esther (Queen), the Israelite people faced great difficulties because of Haman, a descendant of Agag.
