Numbers 32:37The sons of Reuben built Heshbon, Elealeh, and Kiriathaim
Later, in the latter part of the history of the Israelite people, it appears to have been occupied by Moab.
Isaiah 15:4Heshbon and Elealeh cry out; their voices are heard as far as Jahaz. Therefore the armed men of Moab cry aloud; their souls tremble within them.
Isaiah 16:9Therefore I will weep with the weeping of Jazer for the vines of Sibmah; I will drench you with my tears, Heshbon and Elealeh, for the joyful shout over your summer fruit and your harvest has ceased.
Jeremiah 48:34From Heshbon to Elealeh, to Jahaz, and from Zoar to Horonaim and Eglath-shelishiyah, the people living in these areas cry out because even the waters of Nimrim are desolate.
