A prophet in Samaria during the reign of King Pekah. When the Northern Israelite army led by Pekah attacked King Ahaz of Judah and was returning with many captives, Oded came out and advised them not to enslave their own people.

2 Chr 28:9But a prophet of the Lord was there, whose name was Oded; and he went out to meet the army that was returning to Samaria, and said to them, “Behold, because the Lord, the God of your fathers, was angry with Judah, he gave them into your hand, but you have slain them in a rage that has reached up to heaven.2 Chr 28:10And now you intend to subjugate the people of Judah and Jerusalem as your slaves. But are you not guilty yourselves before the Lord your God?2 Chr 28:11Now therefore hear me, and send back the captives whom you have taken from your brothers, for the fierce wrath of the Lord is upon you.”
