Hathach was an eunuch under Esther (Queen). At that time, Esther, who was in the palace, had no choice but to communicate with Mordecai through someone, and Hathach performed these tasks well.
Esther 4:5Then Esther called for Hathach, one of the king’s eunuchs, whom he had appointed to attend her, and ordered him to go to Mordecai to find out what this was and why it was happening.Esther 4:6So Hathach went out to Mordecai in the city square in front of the palace gate.Esther 4:7Mordecai told Hathach all that had happened to him, and the exact amount of silver that Haman had promised to pay into the royal treasury for the destruction of the Jews.Esther 4:8Mordecai also gave Hathach a copy of the decree issued in Susa for the annihilation of the Jews, so that Esther might see it and be informed, and that he might instruct her to go to the king to plead for her people.Esther 4:9Hathach returned and reported Mordecai’s words to Esther.Esther 4:10Then Esther told Hathach to tell Mordecai,Esther 4:11“All the king’s servants and the people of the king’s provinces know that if any man or woman goes to the king in the inner court without being summoned, there is but one law: that he be put to death, unless the king extends to him the golden scepter so that he may live. But I have not been summoned to go to the king for thirty days.”Esther 4:12So he reported Esther’s words to Mordecai.
