Esther 1:10On the seventh day, when King Ahasuerus was merry with wine, he commanded Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, Abagtha, Zethar, and Gargash, the seven eunuchs who served in the presence of King Ahasuerus,Esther 1:11to bring Queen Vashti before the king with her royal crown, in order to show her beauty to the people and the officials, for she was lovely to behold.Esther 1:12But Queen Vashti refused to come at the king's command delivered by the eunuchs. At this the king became furious and burned with anger.Esther 1:13Then the king consulted the wise men who understood the times (for this was the king's custom to consult with all who were versed in law and judgment;Esther 1:14the ones closest to him were Carshena, Shethar, Admatha, Tarshish, Meres, Marsena, and Memucan, the seven princes of Persia and Media, who had access to the king's presence and ranked highest in the kingdom).
