He is recorded as the father of Shimei, who came out and cursed David when David fled in haste due to Absalom's rebellion.
2 Sam 16:5When King David came to Bahurim, a man from the clan of Saul came out; his name was Shimei son of Gera, and he came out cursing continually.
2 Sam 19:16And Shimei son of Gera, the Benjaminite from Bahurim, hurried down with the men of Judah to meet King David.2 Sam 19:17A thousand Benjaminites were with him, along with Ziba, the servant of Saul’s household, and his fifteen sons and twenty servants.
