📌Habakkuk (Prophet)

Person

Habakkuk was a prophet in the Old Testament era. However, the Bible does not provide a clear explanation of his origin. According to Jewish rabbinic tradition, it is said that he was the son of the Shunammite woman whom Elisha resurrected.

The Book of Habakkuk has a form similar to the Psalms. Therefore, there is speculation that Habakkuk may have been involved in praise ministry.

Hab 1:1The oracle that Habakkuk the prophet received.Hab 1:2How long, Lord, must I call for help, but you do not listen? Or cry out to you, “Violence!” but you do not save?Hab 1:3Why do you make me look at injustice? Why do you tolerate wrongdoing? Destruction and violence are before me; there is strife, and conflict abounds.
