Luke 3:1in the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John, the son of Zacharias, in the wilderness.

When he heard him, he did many things, and he heard him gladly.Mark 6:20Then a convenient day came, that Herod on his birthday made a supper for his nobles, the high officers, and the chief men of Galilee.Mark 6:21When the daughter of Herodias herself came in and danced, she pleased Herod and those sitting with him. The king said to the young lady, “Ask me whatever you want, and I will give it to you.”Mark 6:22He swore to her, “Whatever you shall ask of me, I will give you, up to half of my kingdom.”Mark 6:23She went out, and said to her mother, “What shall I ask?” She said, “The head of John the Baptizer.”Mark 6:24She came in immediately with haste to the king, and asked, “I want you to give me right now the head of John the Baptizer on a platter.”Mark 6:25The king was exceedingly sorry, but for the sake of his oaths, and of his dinner guests, he didn’t wish to refuse her.Mark 6:26Immediately the king sent out a soldier of his guard, and commanded to bring John)’s head, and he went and beheaded him in the prison,Mark 6:27and brought his head on a platter, and gave it to the young lady; and the young lady gave it to her mother.Mark 6:28When his disciples heard this, they came and took up his corpse, and laid it in a tomb.Mark 6:29The apostles gathered themselves together to Jesus, and they told him all things, whatever they had done, and whatever they had taught.
Luke 13:32Nevertheless I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the next day, for it can’t be that a prophet would perish outside of Jerusalem.’
Luke 23:7Now when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceedingly glad, for he had wanted to see him for a long time, because he had heard many things about him. He hoped to see some miracle done by him.Luke 23:8He questioned him with many words, but he gave no answers.Luke 23:9The chief priests and the scribes stood, vehemently accusing him.Luke 23:10Herod with his soldiers humiliated him and mocked him. Dressing him in luxurious clothing, they sent him back to Pilate.Luke 23:11Herod and Pilate became friends with each other that very day, for before that they were enemies with each other.
