A priest who repaired the walls of Jerusalem during the return from Babylonian exile.

Uniquely, he was responsible for rebuilding two sections.

Neh 3:4Next to them Meremoth son of Uriah, the son of Hakkoz, made repairs. Next to them Meshullam son of Berechiah, the son of Meshezabel, made repairs. Next to them Zadok son of Baana made repairs.
Neh 3:21Next to him Meremoth son of Uriah, the son of Hakkoz, repaired another section, from the door of the house of Eliashib to the end of Eliashib’s house.

When he returned to Jerusalem, he managed the silver, gold, and articles used in the temple.

Ezra 8:31On the twelfth day of the first month we set out from the Ahava Canal to go to Jerusalem. The hand of our God was on us, and he protected us from enemies and ambushers along the way.Ezra 8:32So we arrived in Jerusalem and stayed there three days.Ezra 8:33On the fourth day, in the house of our God, we weighed out the silver and gold and the articles and entrusted them to Meremoth son of Uriah, the priest, and with him were Eleazar son of Phinehas, and with them were the Levites Jozabad son of Jeshua and Noadiah son of Binnui.
