Molech is one of the pagan gods primarily worshipped by the Ammonite people. Depending on the era and region, it was called Milcom, Malcam, Moloch, etc. The most significant characteristic of Molech worship was the practice of human sacrifice. In particular, sacrifices involved burning children, and God especially detested this act, commanding in various places in the Bible that those who committed such acts be stoned.

Leviticus 18:21“ ‘You shall not lie with a man as with a woman. That is detestable.
