This document is about Rechab (son of Rimmon). For other homonyms, please refer to the Rechab document. He was a military commander during the time when Ish-bosheth, son of King Saul, ruled Israel while confronting David. He assassinated Ish-bosheth while he was taking a nap and surrendered to David, but he incurred David's wrath and was killed, his hands and feet cut off and hung by the pool in Hebron.
