Nebat was a man of the tribe of Ephraim and the father of Jeroboam I, the first king of the Northern Kingdom of Israel. When Jeroboam I was mentioned, he was always referred to as the son of Nebat.
He married Zeruah and had Jeroboam I. Since Zeruah is recorded as a widow, it is presumed that Nebat died at a young age.
1 Kings 11:26Solomon’s servant Jeroboam son of Nebat, an Ephraimite from Zeredah, whose mother’s name was Zeruah, a widow, also rebelled against the king.
