The Mount of Olives is a mountain located east of Jerusalem, meaning "mountain of olives." Indeed, it is a region where many olive trees grow, to the extent that there are still many olive groves there today. From Jerusalem, one crosses the Kidron Valley and ascends.
Gethsemane is in this area, which means 'oil press'.
Bethany is in this area, and Jesus often stayed here and prayed frequently.
