A country in the African region, next to Egypt and Cush.
During the reign of King Rehoboam, God disciplined him, and Shishak, king of Egypt, invaded with troops from Libya and Cush.
2 Chr 12:1When Rehoboam’s kingdom was established and strong, he abandoned the law of the Lord, and all Israel with him.2 Chr 12:2In the fifth year of King Rehoboam, because they had been unfaithful to the Lord, Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem.2 Chr 12:3He came with 1,200 chariots and 60,000 horsemen. And the people who came with him from Egypt—Libyans, Sukkiim, and Cushites—were beyond number.2 Chr 12:4He took the fortified cities of Judah and came as far as Jerusalem.
The book of Daniel records a prophecy that it would later be conquered by Antiochus IV.
