The Holy Spirit is one person of the Triune God, and in the Bible, it is also recorded as 'the Spirit of God', 'the Spirit of the Lord', or 'the Spirit of Jesus'.

The Ministry of God the Holy Spirit
Regarding our salvation, the Triune God has bestowed different graces upon us. God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, to us, and Jesus obeyed to the end for our sins, even to death on the cross. The Holy Spirit does not dislike our human foolishness and weakness, but follows us to the end, piercing our hearts, leading us to repentance, helping us realize the grace of God the Father and the love of Jesus, and guiding humanity through the process of sanctification.
In the beginning, Adam and Eve, who were pure and without sin in the Garden of Eden, could fully commune and unite with God. However, due to original sin, our nature became corrupted, and we could no longer approach God. Thus, humanity became slaves to sin, unable to know or understand God by their own will or effort. This is called total depravity of humanity. Therefore, for us to understand God's word, shed our old nature, and draw near to God, the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit within us are absolutely necessary.
Furthermore, the Holy Spirit is an intercessor who helps us in our prayers. Due to our sinful nature, the way to know God's heart is blocked, and only through the help of the Holy Spirit can we offer proper prayers to God.
Common Misconceptions about God the Holy Spirit
God the Holy Spirit is God, but many people think of the Holy Spirit as some supernatural power or an impersonal influence.
In churches or prayer houses that emphasize spiritual gifts, it is common to hear "Receive the Holy Spirit~!" and people evaluate and judge each other based on whether they have received the Holy Spirit or not. This is an act that robs God the Holy Spirit of the respect, love, and gratitude we ought to give Him. If we think of the Holy Spirit as just such a power, we will only research how to receive and use that power a little more. However, if we understand the Holy Spirit as a complete person, we will think about how we can become more humble and pure so that the Holy Spirit can take hold of us. This is the crucial difference between acknowledging God the Holy Spirit as God and merely regarding Him as a simple power.
