Sidon, like Tyre, is the largest port on the eastern Mediterranean coast. It is currently called Saida. It is one of the representative cities in the Lebanon region.
The gods worshipped here were Baal and Ashtaroth.

성전을 지을 때에 레바논에서 실어나르는 백향목이 이 시돈을 통해 욥바로 운송되었다.
페르시아 제국의 침공 당시 시돈 사람들은 함락을 앞두로 이 도시를 스스로 불태웠는데, 이 사건에 대해서 예수님께서 언급하셨다.
