He was the father of Meremoth, who repaired the walls of Jerusalem during the time of Nehemiah (governor). However, in Nehemiah chapter 3, verses 4 and 21, the name is recorded as Uriah/Uriya.

Neh 3:4Next to them, Meremoth son of Uriah, the son of Hakkoz, repaired another section. Next to them, Meshullam son of Berechiah, the son of Meshezabel, repaired another section. Next to them, Zadok son of Baana also made repairs.

Neh 3:21Next to them, Meremoth son of Uriah, the son of Hakkoz, repaired another section, from the door of Eliashib’s house to the end of it.
