When Samuel grew old, his sons acted as judges, but they perverted justice and took bribes, earning the people's resentment.
1 Sam 8:1When Samuel grew old, he appointed his sons as judges for Israel.1 Sam 8:2The name of his firstborn was Joel and the name of his second son was Abijah, and they served as judges at Beersheba.1 Sam 8:3But his sons did not follow his ways.
