A valley north of Hebron. Large clusters of grapes grew here. During the Exodus, Canaanite spies explored this place and brought back large clusters of grapes.
Num 13:23When they reached the Valley of Eshcol, they cut off a branch bearing a single cluster of grapes. Two of them carried it on a pole between them, along with some pomegranates and figs.Num 13:24That place was called the Valley of Eshcol because the Israelites cut grapes there.
Num 32:9After they went up to the Valley of Eshcol and viewed the land, they discouraged the Israelites from entering the land the Lord had given them.
