Hanukkah (Feast of Dedication) is a festival commemorating the purification of the defiled temple. It does not appear in the Bible but commemorates events that occurred between the Old and New Testaments.
At that time, Antiochus IV defiled the temple by sacrificing a pig on the temple altar. This day commemorates the recapture and restoration of the temple through the Maccabean Revolt.
In Hebrew, it is called Hanukkah.
