One of the seers.
He is presumed to have been active during the time of King Jeroboam I of the Northern Kingdom of Israel and Rehoboam of the Southern Kingdom of Judah, and is said to have left records related to the dynasties of that period, but these were not included in the Bible.
2 Chr 9:29Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, from first to last, are they not written in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer concerning Jeroboam the son of Nebat?
2 Chr 12:15Now the acts of Rehoboam, from first to last, are they not written in the book of Shemaiah the prophet, and of Iddo the seer, concerning genealogies? And there were wars between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually.
