A person from the tribe of Judah, it is recorded that his mother bore him in pain when he was born. He offered the Prayer of Jabez, asking God for blessings throughout his life.
1 Chr 4:9Jabez was more honorable than his brothers; and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, “Because I bore him in pain.”1 Chr 4:10Jabez called upon the God of Israel, saying, “Oh that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from harm, that it may not bring me pain!” And God granted him what he asked.
