A rich land of Moab. It is mentioned as an object of judgment.
Isaiah 16:7Therefore Moab will wail for Moab; everyone will wail. They will mourn for the raisin cakes of Kir-hareseth, grieving deeply.Isaiah 16:8For the fields of Heshbon are withered, and the vines of Sibmah. The rulers of the nations have broken down its choice vines, which once reached Jazer and spread to the desert, and whose shoots extended over the sea.Isaiah 16:9Therefore I will weep with the weeping of Jazer for the vines of Sibmah. I will drench you with my tears, Heshbon and Elealeh, for the joyful shout over your summer fruit and your harvest has ceased.Isaiah 16:10Joy and gladness are taken away from the fertile fields; in the vineyards no one sings or shouts with joy. No one treads grapes in the presses, for I have stopped the joyful shouting.Isaiah 16:11Therefore my heart laments for Moab like a harp; my inmost being for Kir-hareseth.
2 Kings 3:25They destroyed the cities, and each man threw a stone onto every good field until it was covered. They stopped up all the springs and cut down all the good trees. Only the stones of Kir-hareseth were left, but the slingers surrounded it and attacked it.
