A man from Rabbah (Ammonite region). He helped David when he fled from Absalom's rebellion.
2 Sam 17:26So Israel and Absalom encamped in the land of Gilead.2 Sam 17:27When David came to Mahanaim, Shobi the son of Nahash from Rabbah of the Ammonites, and Machir the son of Ammiel from Lodebar, and Barzillai the Gileadite from Roglim,2 Sam 17:28brought beds, basins, and earthen vessels, and wheat, barley, flour, parched grain, beans, lentils, and parched grain,2 Sam 17:29and honey, and butter, and sheep, and cheese of cows, for David and for the people who were with him to eat; for they said, “The people are hungry and weary and thirsty in the wilderness.”
