Sepharvaim is one of the regions conquered by Assyria. Its exact location is unknown. After conquering the Northern Kingdom of Israel, Assyria forcibly relocated its inhabitants to Samaria. These people practiced a religion where they burned their children as offerings to idols. It is continuously mentioned in the Bible when referring to the northern region.
2 Kings 17:24And the king of Assyria brought people from Babylon, Cuthah, Avva, Hamath, and Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel; and they took possession of Samaria and lived in its cities.
2 Kings 17:31And the Avvites made Nibhaz and Tartak; and the Sepharvites burned their children in the fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech, the gods of Sepharvaim.
