He was a king of Northern Israel. He reigned for only six months.
2 Kings 15:8In the thirty-eighth year of Judah’s King Azariah, Jeroboam’s son Zechariah reigned over Israel in Samaria for six months.2 Kings 15:9He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, as his ancestors had done. He did not turn away from the sins of Nebat’s son Jeroboam, which he had caused Israel to commit.2 Kings 15:10Jabesh’s son Shallum conspired against him and struck him down in public and reigned in his place.2 Kings 15:11The other events of Zechariah’s reign are written in the annals of the kings of Israel.2 Kings 15:12This was the word of the Lord spoken to Jehu: “Your descendants will sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth generation.” And so it happened.
