Moses 의 누나이다.
The name of Amram’s wife was Jochebed , the daughter of Levi, who was born to Levi in Egypt . She bore to Amram Aaron and Moses , and Miriam their sister.

어머니 요게뱃이 어린 모세를 갈대상자에 넣어 강에 띄워보낼 때 끝까지 따라갔다.
3 When she could no longer hide him, she took a papyrus basket for him, and coated it with tar and with pitch. She put the child in it, and laid it in the reeds by the river’s bank.
4 His sister stood far off, to see what would be done to him.
5 Pharaoh ’s daughter came down to bathe at the river. Her maidens walked along by the riverside. She saw the basket among the reeds, and sent her servant to get it.
6 She opened it, and saw the child, and behold, the baby cried. She had compassion on him, and said, “This is one of the Hebrews’ children.”
7 Then his sister said to Pharaoh ’s daughter, “Should I go and call a nurse for you from the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for you?”
8 Pharaoh ’s daughter said to her, “Go.” The young woman went and called the child’s mother.
9 Pharaoh ’s daughter said to her, “Take this child away, and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wages.” The woman took the child, and nursed it.
10 The child grew, and she brought him to Pharaoh ’s daughter, and he became her son. She named him Moses , and said, “Because I drew him out of the water.”
출애굽 이후 홍해가 갈라지는 기적 끝에 애굽 군대가 바다속에 수장되고 나자, 미리암은 여인들과 함께 하나님을 찬양하는 승리의 노래를 불렀다.
20 Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron , took a tambourine in her hand; and all the women went out after her with tambourines and with dances.
21 Miriam answered them, “Sing to Yahweh, for he has triumphed gloriously. The horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.”
이후, 모세가
Cush 여인을 취하자 이를 비난했다. 그러나 하나님은 모세의 편을 들어주시고, 미리암에게는 나병이 발생하였다.
1 Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Cushite woman whom he had married; for he had married a Cushite woman.
2 They said, “Has Yahweh indeed spoken only with Moses ? Hasn’t he spoken also with us?” And Yahweh heard it.
3 Now the man Moses was very humble, more than all the men who were on the surface of the earth.
4 Yahweh spoke suddenly to Moses , to Aaron , and to Miriam, “You three come out to the Tent of Meeting !” The three of them came out.
5 Yahweh came down in a pillar of cloud, and stood at the door of the Tent, and called Aaron and Miriam; and they both came forward.
6 He said, “Now hear my words. If there is a prophet among you, I, Yahweh, will make myself known to him in a vision. I will speak with him in a dream.
7 My servant Moses is not so. He is faithful in all my house.
8 With him, I will speak mouth to mouth, even plainly, and not in riddles; and he shall see Yahweh’s form. Why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant, against Moses ?”
9 Yahweh’s anger burned against them; and he departed.
10 The cloud departed from over the Tent; and behold, Miriam was leprous, as white as snow. Aaron looked at Miriam, and behold, she was leprous.
11 Aaron said to Moses , “Oh, my lord, please don’t count this sin against us, in which we have done foolishly, and in which we have sinned.
12 Let her not, I pray, be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he comes out of his mother’s womb.”
13 Moses cried to Yahweh, saying, “Heal her, God, I beg you!”
14 Yahweh said to Moses , “If her father had but spit in her face, shouldn’t she be ashamed seven days? Let her be shut up outside of the camp seven days, and after that she shall be brought in again.”
15 Miriam was shut up outside of the camp seven days, and the people didn’t travel until Miriam was brought in again.
8 Be careful in the plague of leprosy, that you observe diligently and do according to all that the Levitical priests teach you. As I commanded them, so you shall observe to do.
9 Remember what Yahweh your God did to Miriam, by the way as you came out of Egypt .
미리암은
Kadesh 에서 죽어 그곳에 묻혔다.
The children of Israel , even the whole congregation, came into the wilderness of Zin in the first month. The people stayed in Kadesh . Miriam died there, and was buried there.
