보김 은
Bethel 과
Shiloh 사이의 지역이다. 사사기 시절 이스라엘 민족은 가나안 원주민과 싸워 그들을 몰아내고 그들의 땅을 차지하라는 하나님의 명령을 들었는데, 시간이 지나면서 그들과 싸우기 보다는 그들과 공존하는 방향을 택하게 되었다.
이를 두고 하나님은 사자를 보내 이스라엘 민족을 책망하셨고 책망을 들은 이스라엘 백성은 이곳에서 크게 울며 하나님께 제사를 드렸다.
1 Yahweh’s angel came up from Gilgal to Bochim . He said, “I brought you out of Egypt , and have brought you to the land which I swore to give your fathers. I said, ‘I will never break my covenant with you.
2 You shall make no covenant with the inhabitants of this land. You shall break down their altars.’ But you have not listened to my voice. Why have you done this?
3 Therefore I also said, ‘I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be in your sides, and their gods will be a snare to you.’ ”
4 When Yahweh’s angel spoke these words to all the children of Israel , the people lifted up their voice and wept.
5 They called the name of that place Bochim , and they sacrificed there to Yahweh.
