After the death of Solomon, the kingdom split into the northern Kingdom of Israel and the southern Kingdom of Judah. The Northern Kingdom of Israel was composed of ten tribes, excluding the tribe of Judah and the tribe of Benjamin.
Dynastic changes were very frequent.
It was destroyed by the invasion of the Assyrian Empire.
