Overview
Benjamin is the twelfth and youngest son of Jacob (Son of Isaac). He is the youngest son born to Jacob (Son of Isaac) by Rachel. Rachel had a difficult labor when she gave birth to him and died immediately after his birth. As she was dying, she named him Ben-oni (son of my sorrow), but Jacob named him Benjamin, son of my right hand.
Gen 35:18As she breathed her last—for she was dying—she named him Ben-oni. But his father named him Benjamin.
