One of the Levites taken captive to Babylon.

1 Chr 9:17The gatekeepers were Shallum, Akkub, Talmon, and Ahiman, and their brethren; Shallum was the chief.1 Chr 9:18These were the gatekeepers at the king’s gate on the east, that is, at the camp of the Levites.1 Chr 9:19Shallum the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his brethren of his father’s house, the Korahites, were in charge of the work of the service, keepers of the gates of the tabernacle; their fathers had been in charge of the camp of the Lord, keepers of the entrance.

Later, the descendants of this Shallum were included among the gatekeepers returning with Ezra (the scribe).

Ezra 2:42The sons of the gatekeepers: the sons of Shallum, the sons of Ater, the sons of Talmon, the sons of Akkub, the sons of Hatita, the sons of Shobai, in all one hundred thirty-nine.
