Prophet Uriah was a prophet active during the same period as Jeremiah. He prophesied warnings against the kingdom of Judah, which earned him the hatred of King Jehoiakim of Judah at the time, and he was put to death.

Jer 26:20There was also a man who prophesied in the name of the Lord, Uriah son of Shemaiah from Kiriath-jearim. He prophesied against this city and this land, just as Jeremiah had done.Jer 26:21When King Jehoiakim and all his officers and all the officials heard his words, the king sought to put him to death. But Uriah heard of it and was afraid, and he fled and escaped to Egypt.Jer 26:22But King Jehoiakim sent men to Egypt: Elanthan son of Achbor and certain other men with him, to Egypt.Jer 26:23They brought Uriah from Egypt and brought him to King Jehoiakim, who struck him down with the sword and threw his body into the burial place of the common people.
