Abraham, along with his father Terah, left the region of Ur and stayed in Haran until his father Terah died.

Abraham sent a servant to Nahor's city to find a wife for his son Isaac and brought Rebekah back, and that place is presumed to be the Haran region.

Gen 24:10Then the servant took ten of his master’s camels and departed, taking with him all sorts of choice gifts from his master. He set out for Mesopotamia and went to the city of Nahor.

This is because later, when Jacob fled from his brother Esau to Rebekah's hometown, that region is stated to be Haran.

Gen 27:42When the words of her older son Esau were reported to Rebekah, she sent for her younger son Jacob and said to him, “Your brother Esau is planning to kill you to satisfy his anger.Gen 27:43Now, my son, listen to me. Flee at once to Haran, to my brother Laban.
