During the time David was fleeing from King Saul, he maintained good relations with the people of Judah. It was one of the places where he shared the plunder taken from other foreign peoples.
1 Samuel 30:26When David came to Ziklag, he sent some of the plunder to his friends, the elders of Judah, saying, “Here is a present for you from the plunder of the Lord’s enemies.”1 Samuel 30:27He sent it to those in Bethel, to those in Ramoth) of the Negev, to those in Jattir,1 Samuel 30:28to those in Aroer), to those in Siphmoth, to those in Eshtemoa),1 Samuel 30:29to those in Ragal, to those in the towns of the Jerahmeelites), to those in the towns of the Kenites,1 Samuel 30:30to those in Hormah, to those in Bor-ashan, to those in Athach,1 Samuel 30:31to those in Hebron), and to all the places where David and his men had roamed.
