David maintained good relations with the people of Judah during the time he was fleeing from King Saul. It is one of the places where he shared the plunder taken from other foreign peoples.
1 Samuel 30:26When David came to Ziklag, he sent some of the plunder to his friends, the elders of Judah, saying, “Here is a present for you from the plunder of the Lord’s enemies.”1 Samuel 30:27to those in Bethel, to those in Ramoth of the Negev, to those in Jattir,Aroer, to those in Siphmoth, to those in Eshtemoa,1 Samuel 30:29to those in Racal, to those in the cities of the Jerahmeelites, to those in the cities of the Kenites,1 Samuel 30:30to those in Hormah, to those in Corashan, to those in Athach,1 Samuel 30:31to those in Hebron, and to all the places where David and his men had roamed.
