This document is about Jordan. For other homonyms, please refer to the document Jordan (son of Jada).
The Jordan is an important river that borders the land of Canaan and is a key source of water.

From the north, water from four headwaters merges and flows southward. A famous headwater is Mount Hermon.
Psalm 133:3It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion. For there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.
It passes through the Sea of Galilee in the middle and ends in the Dead Sea. When referring to the entire territory of Israel, the idiom from Dan to Beersheba is used, where Dan (place name) is where the Jordan River begins, and the southern end of Israel's territory is Beersheba.
